John Adams - starts Sat 27 Sept 5.30pm
More4 kicks off its US election season with HBO's award-winning John Adams, a new seven-part mini-series that explores American history and offers an intimate portrait of one of its great founding fathers.
25 October 5.30pm (ep 5/7)
Adams is elected America's first ever Vice President but increasingly becomes frustrated at being excluded from George Washington's inner circle. Meanwhile, as Britain and France go to war, Adams' relationship with Thomas Jefferson is put under incredible strain.

Recount - Sat 1 November 9pm on Channel 4
First shown on More4 and now repeated on Channel 4, Jay Roach's timely film is the story of the 2000 US presidential election when George W Bush beat Al Gore. For days the result was in dispute, thanks to the hanging and dimpled chads on the ballot papers in the state of Florida. Kevin Spacey plays Ron Klain, Al Gore's chief of staff, Tom Wilkinson plays his adversary James Baker III and Dennis Leary plays Michael Whouley, a Gore staffer who 'talks' the audience through the complexities of the legal challenges. But the film is stolen by Laura Dern as Katherine Harris, Florida's secretary of state.
